Without the audience, those people are nothing.”
Only Midnight began in late 2000 when Derek Olds and John Briggs met in their early college years in Chapel Hill, NC. Determined not to sit idly, they soon began what became a prolific songwriting and performing partnership. After canvassing the local scene, and developing a significant following for their acoustic act, they decided to augment their sound with the additions of drummer Brandon Olds, and bassist Nic Slaton.

Born Providence, RI, Krook began showing his interest in music from early on.
First as a DJ and then as a rapper, he started, in conjunction with his brother Merc, making beats on an EMU SP-12. Soon they produced two of the songs featured on Krook Rock’s CRONKETON album, soon to be released by JKH Entertainment and distributed by Universal Latino in September of 2006.
